It sometimes seems as though schools plan half term holidays purely to cause as much disruption to as possible to your daily schedule, dumping your kids back at home and leaving you scrambling to find enough activities to keep them from tearing the house down. You can only dump them in front of the telly for so long before the parental guilt starts to kick in, after all.
But fret not, help is at hand. Plenty of cookery schools up and down the country are running kid-focused cookery classes this week and next. A few hours getting messy in the kitchen can be a great way to divert their energies in a vaguely constructive direction (and because it’s not your kitchen, there’s no clean up necessary). We’ve picked out five of the best October half-term cookery classes to rescue you from your children. At time of writing, all have places available. (And if you have a National Cookery School Guide gift card kicking around, you can use it to book any of them.)
