Set in the beautiful Mendip Hills in Somerset, Dudwell Cookery School is the passion project of Caroline Waldegrave, founding principal and former managing director of Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London. Teaching takes place in the purpose-built cookery school beside Caroline’s family home, where students learn a broad range of skills including basic butchery, baking and pasta making. Ensuite accommodation for up to eight students is located next to the school, and guests get to use the family’s tennis courts and heated pool during their breaks from the kitchen. Caroline’s vast experience means she can tailor the course around your ability and interests, so whether you go to learn a particular culinary skill or simply want to brush up on your kitchen repertoire, you’ll leave Dudwell armed with new knowledge and techniques.
Courses are generally bespoke and range from one to five days, based on a £200 daily rate, including supper and accommodation the night before. Morning or weekend courses and classes for teenagers can be arranged on request.
Five-day course: £950
Weekend course: £400
