Divertimenti Cookery School

Specialities

Based in the South Kensington home of the eponymous cookware shop, Divertimenti operates an almost daily calendar of short (two–three-hour) courses running the full gamut from classic cookery to the latest contemporary kitchen trends, with both morning and evening sessions – perfect for after-work learners. As you’d expect from a kitchenware specialist, the equipment is all top-drawer, (ovens and appliances are exclusively by Miele), while the course teachers are drawn from a sizeable army of culinary professionals, ranging from leading restaurateurs and award-winning chefs to well-known cookbook authors and national-cuisine specialists. Despite the calibre of the classroom, almost all courses are beginner-friendly; sessions for kids and teens are held in the holidays, and there are frequent demonstration sessions for those who prefer to watch and learn rather than get their hands oily. For anyone wanting to dive rather than dip in, the four–week Cooking with Confidence programme offers a solid overview of the fundamentals of culinary competence.
