The NSCG team is delighted to announce a new addition to the collection: the award-winning Rick Stein’s Cookery School on Cornwall’s northern coast.
Overlooking the Camel Estuary in Padstow – unofficial capital of the globe-roving TV chef’s culinary mini-empire – the school has been spilling the secrets of Rick’s restaurant kitchens since 2000. Courses are mostly led by seasoned Stein chef Nick Evans, and take place in one of the most immaculate and impressively hi-tech kitchens we’ve come across. And, if you want to make a mini-break out of it, many of Rick Stein’s Padstow restaurants have rooms available, as well as links to self-catering cottages in the area.
As you’d expect, fish and seafood is very much the school’s forte, with much of the fresh ingredients coming courtesy of the Cornish waters next door. As well as all things aquatic, the school also ties in its teaching calendar with Rick’s gourmet gallivants around the world, so if you fancy testing your talents on tacos, tortillas and tostadas, there’s a special day course based on his newly published book (and current BBC2 show) The Road to Mexico, starting in February 2018.
And, as with all schools featured, Rick Stein accepts National Cookery School Guide gift cards – just the thing for the fish-lover on your Christmas list…
